Connect your Zoom account to Okou to manage meetings and work with meeting information through chat. This guide covers the Zoom user-managed connector. Zoom Admin and Zoom AI are separate connectors.
Before you start
- Sign in to Okou and have a Zoom account you are allowed to connect.
- Your Zoom account administrator may need to approve the application or its permissions.
- Zoom approval for external distribution is pending. Until it is approved, availability is limited by Zoom's app-sharing rules; finding the connector in Okou does not bypass those rules.
- Cloud recordings require an eligible Zoom plan, cloud recording enabled, and a completed recording. Transcripts must already have been generated by Zoom. Webinar features require the relevant Zoom license and access.
- Use a test account and test meetings when evaluating changes or meeting deletion. Do not use customer meetings for testing.
Add the app
- Open Okou Connectors.
- In Discover, enter Zoom in Find connectors.
- Choose Connect Zoom on the Zoom card under Meetings and scheduling. Do not choose Zoom Admin or Zoom AI for this guide.
- A Zoom authorization window opens. Sign in with the Zoom account whose meetings you want Okou to access.
- Review the application name and requested permissions. Choose Allow to continue, or Decline to cancel. Shared-access permissions are optional; leave them disabled unless your task needs them.
- Return to Okou and confirm the account appears as connected. Select the Okou agent that may use Zoom, review the connector permissions it requests, and choose an access duration.
- Open a chat with that agent. Ask List my upcoming Zoom meetings to check the connection. An empty meeting list is a valid result for a new account.
Connecting your account and authorizing an agent are separate steps. Another team member's Zoom connection does not give you access to that person's account.
Use Zoom in chat
Okou calls Zoom for the task you request, within the connected account's Zoom access and the agent's Okou permissions. Specify the meeting, time zone, and intended action clearly.
| Feature | Example request | Prerequisites and result |
|---|---|---|
| List meetings | List my upcoming Zoom meetings. | An authorized Zoom account. Returns meeting topics, times, IDs, and available joining links. |
| View a meeting | Show the details of Zoom meeting [meeting ID]. | Access to that meeting. Returns the available meeting information. |
| Schedule a meeting | Create a 30-minute Zoom meeting named Review test tomorrow at 10:00 in Asia/Shanghai. Do not invite anyone. | Permission to create meetings. Returns a meeting ID, time, and joining link. |
| Update a meeting | Move my Zoom meeting [meeting ID] to 11:00 in Asia/Shanghai and make it 45 minutes. | A meeting you are allowed to manage. Updates the specified fields. |
| Delete a meeting | Delete only the test Zoom meeting [meeting ID]. | A meeting you may delete. Deletion cancels the specified meeting; check the ID before requesting it. |
| End a live meeting | End my test Zoom meeting [meeting ID]. | A live meeting you host and may end. Ends that live meeting for its participants. |
| Past meeting details | Show the details of my completed test Zoom meeting [meeting UUID]. | A completed meeting and access to its data. Historical instances use Zoom's meeting UUID. |
| Past participants | List the participants of my completed test Zoom meeting [meeting UUID]. | Access to the completed meeting's participant data. Availability depends on Zoom account permissions and retention. |
| Find recordings | Find my Zoom cloud recordings from [date] to [date]. | Cloud recording access and recordings in that period. Use periods of no more than 30 days per request. |
| View recording files | Show the available recording files for Zoom meeting [meeting ID]. | An accessible completed cloud recording. Returns the files Zoom makes available. |
| Read an available transcript | Read the existing transcript for my test Zoom recording [meeting ID]. | A transcript file already generated by Zoom and permission to access it. This does not enable recording or create a missing transcript. |
| List webinars | List the webinars I can access. | A webinar-enabled Zoom account and appropriate permissions. |
| View a webinar | Show the details of Zoom webinar [webinar ID]. | Access to that webinar. The connector reads webinar information; it does not create or modify webinars. |
Permissions and data
The user-managed integration requests profile, meeting, past-participant, cloud-recording, and webinar permissions for the features described above. Profile access identifies the account you connect. Meeting write permissions support scheduling, updating, deleting, and ending meetings; recording and webinar permissions support reading accessible information and files.
Okou stores OAuth credentials encrypted on the platform and refreshes access tokens server-side. Credentials are injected into connector requests at the network boundary rather than supplied to agent code as environment variables. The integration does not need your Zoom password in an Okou chat.
Meeting information, participant information, or recording/transcript content retrieved for a task may appear in your Okou chat and in documents or other artifacts you ask Okou to create. Do not treat disconnecting the account as deletion of previously saved chat results or artifacts. See the Privacy Policy for collection, use, retention, deletion, and your data rights, and Permissions for agent access controls.
Remove the app
To stop future use and remove the connection from Okou:
- Open Connectors in Okou and select Connected.
- Find Zoom and open Manage Zoom accounts.
- Select the account you want to remove and choose Disconnect. Review the affected account and confirm.
- Verify the account is no longer listed as connected. Future tasks need another connected account or a new authorization.
Also revoke the provider authorization in Zoom:
- Sign in to Zoom App Marketplace using the same Zoom account.
- Open My library or Manage > Added Apps, depending on the Marketplace interface.
- Find this Okou application, open its removal controls, and choose Remove. Confirm removal.
Removing agent authorization in Okou only removes that agent's access; it does not disconnect your Zoom account for every other authorized agent. Disconnecting or uninstalling this app does not delete meetings or recordings from Zoom. Use Zoom's own controls if you also want to delete those resources.
To request deletion of Zoom-derived data retained in Okou, contact [email protected] from the email associated with your Okou account. Identify the account and the chats or artifacts concerned; never include passwords or access tokens. Requests are handled under the Privacy Policy, including any applicable legal retention obligations.
Troubleshooting
- Zoom refuses installation or says the app is unavailable: check app approval and sharing eligibility with your Zoom account administrator. External distribution is not available until Zoom approves it.
- Authorization was declined or the window was closed: return to Connectors, refresh the page if the connection button remains busy, and start a new authorization. A cancelled attempt does not establish a connection.
- Connected, but Okou asks for permission: authorize the intended agent and the specific requested action. Connection alone does not grant every agent access.
- Wrong account: select the correct Zoom account during authorization. Manage or disconnect the account in Okou before reconnecting if necessary.
- Reconnect required: reconnect from the account controls. Tokens may have expired or the authorization may have been revoked. Do not paste tokens into chat.
- No meetings, recordings, or webinars: check the connected account, date range, meeting ownership, Zoom license, and whether the resource exists. Empty results are not proof of a connection failure.
- Missing transcript or recording: wait for Zoom processing and check that recording/transcription was enabled in Zoom. Okou cannot retrieve a file Zoom has not produced or made accessible.
- Rate limit or provider error: wait for the interval indicated by Zoom. Check the original operation's outcome before retrying a meeting creation or change, to avoid duplicates.
For help, use the support page or email [email protected] with the action, approximate time, error message, and relevant test meeting ID. Exclude credentials and private meeting contents.
